Online Classes were approved by the Georgia Licensing Board in February 2003. . The classes are available to all GPTA members. Membership may be obtained by sending an application form and $75 to our office. We accept all major credit cards or go to Membership Sign-up to enroll on line.
Once you become a member, You may take either online classes or attend a regularly scheduled class. If you attempt an online class and decide it is not for you, then simply email, or call and we will be glad to reserve you a spot in a class that is close to your home.
Each segment of the online class is divided into one hour blocks. You may select any combination of the blocks to meet the four hours needed. You may take as much time as you need to complete the 4 hours but they must be completed by November 30th to meet the Licensing Boards criteria for 4 hours per year. If a chosen block doesn’t suit you please try another, but credit can only be given for completion of an entire segment. Help will be provided by phone, or email.
On Line Classes do not work very well with Internet Explorer 6 or earlier or with Safari.

Once you have completed 4 hours, a Certificate will be mailed for you to maintain as proof that you have completed your annual requirement. Records are to be retained for 5 years.
If you select "Makeup Class" It will show in our records that you have completed for a prior year.
To pay and register for class or classes:

Fees must be paid before credit is given. Classes may be completed before paying
Any applicant for renewal of Master or Journeyman license is required to complete four (4) hours of continuing education per year.
Master and Journeyman Plumbers are required to complete, prior to license renewal, continuing education. Failure to document completion of the continuing education requirements to the satisfaction of the Division of Master and Journeyman Plumber shall be grounds for disciplinary action, including denial of renewal of the license or revocation of the license, unless waived by the Division.
The division may approve applicants for renewal who have completed at least a total of 8 hours of continuing education within the 24 months prior to the expiration date.
Applicants for renewal of master or journeyman plumber license must report on the application for renewal whether or not all applicable continuing education requirements have been met. Licensees shall maintain, for at least five years after completion of the course, records confirming attendance at and completion of continuing education courses, including the following information:
(a) school or organization conducting the course;
(b) title of course;
(c) location and date of the course;
(d) course outline or topics covered;
(e) hours of instruction;
(f) documentation of attendance and satisfactory completion.
GPTA will refuse to grant credit if the materials you select are not covered completely and the time
equals at least 4 hours in total.
